ANGRY BARCA FAN REPUDIATE FOOTBALL TO BASKET BALL OVER REAL MADRID PROSPERITIES. BY HABIBA TUGGA.

Following the recent form by Real Madrid CF in all completion and with their advanment to UCL Semi Final for four consecutive times after defeating the Mighty Manchester City,  and failure of Barcelona FC to get the momentum against Paris Saint Germain as well as the their inability to close gap with the Arch Rival in La liga has made one Nigerian Barcelona fan to switch over to Basket ball. Real Madrid are on top of La liga Table with 11 points clear and are warming up to play their Semi Final with Bayern Munich at Alianz Arena home of the Barverians.

The 14 times UCL Champions are the most successful team and are now the favourite to lift the trophy after defeating Manchester City.

However, Following the victories secured jn their two most important and tough matches,  Real Madrid have made their rivals feel so uncomfortable and forced some to renounce football and switched over to Basket Ball.

THE DECENTRALIZATION OF KANO EMIRATE:

THE DECENTRALIZATION OF KANO EMIRATE:
THE DREAM THAT NEVER WAS
BY
MUDASSIR ALIYU YUNUSA
mudassiray@gmail.com
It appeared to be a shock and incredible to many when the news of creating additional four Emirate councils broke out from Kano Assembly. The bill was initiated by some legal practitioners who demanded the State Assembly to enact a law that will enable the decentralization of Kano Emirate Council. The bill without any hitch has passed all processes and received immediate attention of the Governor who assented to it in less than forty eight hours of its inception. It is believed to be one of the fastest bills to be so initiated, treated and passed into law in the state.
When I got the news, I thought it was just a rumour but the story received high intensity on both social and conventional media. The issue has generated a mix of reactions from within and outside the State. While Some consider it as a mere expression of grievances by the state government over what allegedly happened between the emirate council and the state government( precisely the Emir and the Governor) during 2019 electioneering processes, others saw it as the right decision to carve additional emirate out of the most populous kingdom in west Africa. But to me the issue has defeated my emotions for the fact that I personally put my concern on the creation of State out of Kano just for our people to derive so many advantages and privileges enjoyed by other states that are not as big as one third of Kano in terms of population. But I have never dreamt of dismantling the prestigious emirate north of the Niger. My reason is that in Kano we have witnessed various efforts, movements and agitations  for the creation of state(s) out of Kano, but the idea of decentralization of Kano emirate council into five(5) has never came to my mind. Though a Hausa adage is saying ‘In da ranka ka sha kallo’ meaning  ‘as you live long you will see many surprises'
Historically, Kano emirate has been affected negatively by political winds right from first republic, when the political forces in northern regional government led to the dethronement of one powerful, and famous Emir who accords respects among his contemporaries, and who was also treated with prima even by the colonial masters despite ranking 3rd in the Seat of Caliphate (after Sultan of Sokoto and Emir of Gwandu), that is Emir Muhammadu Sunusi (the first). His dethronement was as a result of some political misunderstanding between him (the Emir of Kano) and the Premier of Northern region Sir Ahmadu Bello in 1963, a scenario that brought chaos and  disorder in Kano.

During second republic, Mallam Aminu Kano, the founder of NEPU SAWABA and PRP was the leader who dominated the political scene in Kano with massive support from talakawa, at that time most of the elected or appointed political office holders are loyal to him mainly from NEPU down to PRP.   In 1981 Mallam Aminu Kano was mainly blamed by many as a person who influenced the creation of more Emirates in Kano by Governor Abubakar Rimi. At that time Auyo, Ringim, Karaye and Gaya emirates were created and their district heads elevated to become emirs and subsequently the 3 months suspension to the Emir of Kano was another confusion created by political forces in the state. Though the action was seen as a mere politics by PRP which was seen as replica of  NEPU SAWABA particularly with the belief of how NEPU has been molested by traditional rulers who supported NPC during first republic. But what happened then was not seen as controversial as the recent decentralization of Kano emirate by the  current administration.
Another misunderstanding that exists between the state government and Kano emirate was the removal of Mallam Nasiru Muhammad Nasir (Chief Imam of Waje) who was turbanned as Wazirin Kano by Late Emir Ado Bayero and his council of chiefs, but immediately disapproved and seceded by Governor Kwankwaso, an action that bring disharmony to the late Emir and the Kano emirate entirely.
The selection of  Emir Muhammadu Sunusi II as the successor of Late Ado Bayero was seen by many people as another political weight that affect Kano emirate, though he ( Emir Sunusi) was among the principal contenders and the Governor has the right to select any person among the names submitted to him by the king makers, but it was believed by many to be subjected by political circumstances happening between The Governor and the Government at the centre. However, the selection of Emir Sunusi has generated various criticisms, strong rejection, riot and violence demonstrated by some people in Kano describing the selection as a deliberate political action by Governor Kwankwaso to infuriate, enrage and defeat the desire of the ruling party who preempted the State Government's formal announcement through sending a congratulation message to one of the contenders.
The recent saga that led to the creation of Four (4) additional Emirates (Rano, Gaya, Karaye and Bichi) by Ganduje administration has generated heats and debates in Kano and other part of the country. Where some are saying the dichotomy is the worst among all political atrocities that happened between Government and the emirate while others has view it as the right decision to bring the people closer to government.
Therefore, with the above historical background on how politics has been affecting Kano royal house, I observed that 3 civilian Governors in Kano; Rimi, Kwankwaso and Ganduje have in one way or the other quarreled with Kano emirate while 3 others Sabo Bakinzuwo, Kabiru Gaya and Ibrahim Shekarau have never had a row with Kano emirate.
Finally, I suggest that political antagonistic and hostilities between the Government and the emirate council should not be condoned by the good people of Kano state,  and a bill of this nature which affects the totality of the population should be subjected to public hearing before implementation not just accomplished within very limited time.  Our politicians should always respect the constituted authority and age long cultural heritage of our society particularly by making some constitutional provision purposely to cater for traditional rulers. On the other hand, all emirate councils should be purely politically neutral and embrace all and sundry irrespective of their social and political differences.

THE TRICYCLISTS ('YAN ADAIDAITA SAHU); A TRAGIC ON KANO ROADS

THE TRICYCLISTS
('YAN ADAIDAITA SAHU);
A TRAGIC ON KANO ROADS
BY
MUDASSIR ALIYU YUNUSA
NTA KADUNA NWC
mudassiray@gmail.com
" 'Yan Adaidaita Sahu Masu Titi" meaning 'Tricylists are road masters',  this has been a popular saying in Kano, particularly with the level of negligence, recklessness and breaking of traffic rules by quite number of tricyclists popularly known as 'yan Adaidaita, who are now believed to be highest road users in Kano city plying all nooks and crannies of Kano metropolis and beyond. The tricycle business was formally introduced by Shekarau's Administration with the view to bring sanity in the transportation sector by providing easy, safe and free movements of people especially women in the state to avoid congestion and prevent women from the precarious intermingling with men in taxis, buses and more dangerously on achaba riders. It has became more popular and patronized by people after Achaba was banned during Kwankwaso's regime where considerable number of Achaba riders had no option but to switched to tricyclists including underage children who doesn't know traffic rules and regulations completely.
The tricyclists have became threat  and danger to the safety of  the road and road users in Kano. What is happening on Kano roads is worrisome as these tricyclists are in most cases claiming superiority with little or no consideration of other road users. They breaks traffic rules as they wishes, they move on the wrong lane, occupying wrong direction, parking anyhow to pick and drop passengers, crossing the road recklessly,  moving arrogantly and displaying high degree of impudence, intersecting vehicles along the roads, borrowing others lane and or taking one way as well as total disruption of almost all traffic rules and regulations. Another alarming issue that need to be urgently addressed is the  underage tricycle riders, where children under 15 years are operating the machines picking passengers without any knowledge and awareness of road rules and regulations. The children are just riding and making the wrong  move, picking and dropping passengers with little or no consideration of other road user, traffic rules as well as road signs and signals. Wallahi this issue of underage tricyclists  is really disturbing. Government and concern authorities should not just take it for granted, because it is the most dangerous of all and therefore  most be banned  completely. I witnessed an incidence where a boy of less than 14 years caused an accident by wrong parking where so many matured responsible people became the victims of under age tricyclist. The most annoying is even though the boy was guilty but would never face the consequences or arraigned in any court of law because of his age which is under puberty.
It has been observed and sampled that out every ten(10) car in Kano, eight (8) have   in one way or the other  became victims of tricyclist(s), you can bear me witness when almost all cars in Kano have an indelible  yellow mark (paint of tricycles) as a result of either intentional or unintentional colliding by tricyclists ('Yan Adaidaita).
I suggest that government should create a policy option that will sanitize the activities of tricyclists, certain regulations that may ameliorate the road disturbances and frequent occurrence of accidents caused by tricyclists should be introduced. There is need for the road traffic agencies to reserve the areas, roads and  lane in which all tricyclists should operate without interference of other vehicles. And the policy option should be very rigid so that they most abide by the rules created or else a big sanction should be attached to it for those who deliberately break the rules and regulations on our roads.

TEACHER AISHA MUHAMMED; A MOTHER, A ROLE MODEL AND AN EDUCATIONAL ICON.

TEACHER AISHA MUHAMMED; A MOTHER, A ROLE MODEL AND AN EDUCATIONAL ICON.

'I am a pupil of Shehu Garbai School, I am a good pupil, I promise to be attentive and discipline; loyal, neat and tidy; obedient, punctual and resourceful. Throughout in the school and thereafter.'
The above is the popular school pledge that is always fresh in my mind and which we learnt through Malama Aisha Muhammed Biu of Shehu Garbai Primary School Maiduguri, an English Teacher who played a role of true mother in teaching and mentoring young ones to be of good character and preparing the leaders of tomorrow. A Teacher with distinct qualities and philosophy of honesty accountability, transparency, dedication, sympathy and fear of Allah in the course of discharging her responsibilities.
TEACHER AISHA, as we affectionately called her and all other teachers in the school, has made several indelible marks in the history of Education in Borno state, a well trained teacher who dedicated her time, energy to pass knowledge, wisdom and good character to her students who have excelled now in various field of human life, some became qualified Medical Doctors, Teachers, Engineers, Professional Accountants, Journalists (where I belong), Politicians, Business moguls, and many Academicians.
Indeed history of Shehu Garbai School will surely be incomplete without mentioning her name as English Tutor as well as Headmistress in the Primary section and rose to the position of Vice principal in secondary section, a position she held until her retirement on the 7th of this month (August), 2019. she spent most of her time in serving government and community with the aim of attaining better condition of service/life.
TEACHER Aisha attended Mirnga Primary School, proceed to Women Teachers College Maiduguri in 1973, got admitted into Borno State Advanced Teachers College in 1980 and University of Maiduguri in 1988, She did her NYSC at WTC Maiduguri, She started her career as a classroom teacher in the Ministry of Education in 1984 and reached the pinnacle of her career in Borno State civil service under the Ministry of Education as Vice Principal. She made enormous contributions toward the development of education in the state, her firm ideal and principle of equity, justice and fairness are among the qualities that made her to stand out as a teacher and a record breaker in the area of education and training in different schools.
As some one who hailed from humble background, she always denounce illegality in what ever form, it was against her strong convictions. Her appearance always indicate how pious and decent she is, matching the true colour of good wife/mother as well as dedicative teacher and role model.
She thought me English language at a time when I can only read Hausa and Arabic texts, and at a time when I only know very little about English speaking and grammar. Thanks to her gentle guidance and encouragement to me which served as a solid foundation for my understanding and insight about English language. I will never forget an incidence that happened in the year 1995(class 5B), when TEACHER Aisha asked me show her my back, with my little understanding of English, I just went to bring my school Bag, an event that made the whole class were seriously laughing at me including the girls which I felt so ashamed and disgraced. But TEACHER Aisha responded politely and compassionately. She said "Muhammad (as she was calling me), time will surely come when this laughter will turn to applauses as per as English language is concern, you will learn it and work with it in an excellent way". That was the time I became so curious and very inquisitive to learn English language. She used the book 'Mastering English' to teach us in class while the book became my close friend at home.
As a Teacher in Four (4) Schools: WTC Maiduguri (Teacher), Shehu Garbai School (Teacher) Government Arabic College Maiduguri (Teacher),  GSS Bulabulin (Vice Principal) and back to Shehu Garbai (as Vice Principal) again. She was always against the negative behaviors among students such as lateness, truancy, lackadaisical and non-challant attitudes. On the part of her colligues teachers she abhor mediocre, indiscipline and laziness which she challenged them to purge themselves and be punctual to their duties particularly when it comes to their lesson period.
Neatness, decency and environmental cleanness are what TEACHER Aisha likes much, she wrote a proposal to Borno State Government on how to clean and sanitize Maiduguri metropolitan in 2011. She also like playing with children especially her 3 grand Children.
I write this piece as valedictory to our Teacher, mother, mentor and a role model as she bade fair well to the civil service. She retired successfully from service on 7th August 2019.
I want to assure you that your proper guidance and intense prayers you offered to us are always counting on us, when I did my NYSC in Maiduguri in 2009, I met some of your students and my class mates, most of us are successful and achieved our goals tremendously. One of your students in Kano is able to memorized the whole Advanced Learner Dictionary.
I have no doubt in my mind that Mallama AISHA Muhammed Biu has contributed positively to the growth of education in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole. I am sure she left the stage when ovation was aloud. And the onerous task for Borno State Ministry of Education to sustain her legacies rest squarely on their shoulders. Once again I salute you Ma for the courage and determinations you used towards impacting knowledge, wisdom and good dispositing to your students as well as your hardworking, honesty and determination in serving your state and your nation at various capacities should be written in Golden colours and remembered forever.
As you retired not because you are tired, May Allah continue to guide you, protect you, give you good health increase your faith and bestow unto you additional wisdom to continue enriching the society.

PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ï·º)

PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ï·º)
THE MOST EXALTED MAN ON THIS EARTH.

BY:
MUDASSIR ALIYU YUNUSA
mudassiray@gmail.com

Islam is the religion of faith that professes monotheism, or the belief in oneness of God. It is act of total submission to the will of Allah only. Muslims are followers of Islamic religion believe in Allah the Supreme Being, the Almighty, the Creator and the Possessor of the whole universe, who revealed religion through His prophets sent to guide mankind. Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) is last and the leader of all the prophets and apostles sent to earth.  For anybody to be in Islamic faith one has to accept the testimony of faith wholeheartedly, the kalimatush shahada which signifies the oneness of Allah (SWT) in its first segment as well as the believe in Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) as messenger of Allah in the second segment.
One thing that people should consider about the testimony of faith is that, it is incomplete as well as null and void pending to believe in the second part of it, i.e where it says "and I testify that Muhammad is his messenger". Therefore one will seized to be a true muslim if ever he/she denied or opposed the prophet hood of Muhammad bn Abdullah (Abul Qasim). Surely prophet Muhammad is a super natural human being who possess extra ordinary qualities that are extremely different from any other mankind created on this earth right from the beginning up to the day of resurrection. Moreso, in this little article I can never highlight all the integrities and the qualities posseses by our Holy Prophet like piousness, truthfulness, righteousness, faithfulness, accurateness, foresightedness, rectitudeness, saintliness, devotedness, uprightness, braveness, etc etc..........
The above are among the few excellent qualities that Allah created him with which He (God) has never ever given to anybody in this world. More importantly however, Prophet Muhammad is the only person that Allah, the master of the day of judgement agrees to combine his name together with, and make the  pronouncement invalid without mentioning Prophet Muhammad in sequel. Indeed, Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) is the most precious and the most treasured person in the sight of Allah.
In respect to obedience in Islam as revealed in the holy Qur'an, people are asked to be obedient to Allah from the first place, and then followed by no other than Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Q64:12. In other verses of the Qur'an Allah (SWT) confirms his prophecy: "Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers... "(Q48:29); "Muhammad is not they father of any of your men, but he is the Apostle of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah is cognizant of all things".(Q33:40).
Therefore, by virture of his personality, status, profile and reputation as manifested in his life style as well as his eminence features full of knowledge and wisdom descended to his people, Prophet Muhammad deserves unquantifiable and practical respect by every rightful and pious Muslim. It is the compulsory duty of Muslim ummah to protect the dignity, honour and self-esteem of Prophet SAW, so that whoever assault and molest his personality should not be allowed to go at no cost without facing a deserving wrath and castigation. Nowadays the stupid acts of abusing the personality of our beloved prophet came in to view by anti Islamic western forces that are doing it just to infuriate and upset Muslim communities. Quite rightly what they were doing really instigate tensions and discontents to the believers across the globe. These evil acts also draw serious responses which in many cases brought serious uprising in Muslim countries.
It happened in kano by one bastard, fool, moron   person, Abdul Nyass, a diehard to Shehu Ibrahim Nyass (a prominent sheikh who is considered as a saint in Tijjaniyya sect) insulted the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW), Subhanallah! Wa iyazubillah!!
With  strong  shock and dismay, I personally condemned this barbarism and I am praying for any horrible and ugly curse to decend on this man and his likes wherever they are. Infact this idiot dumbhead man should never be allowed to go unpunished for this great stupidity. We know about 99% of Kano people are Muslims and the state government is practicing sharia legal system, threfore I am calling the attention of Kano state government with a loud voice and intense demand to quickly and hurriedly take a legal action (base on Islamic sharia) on that brainless person to serve as deterrence to other.

2019 ELECTIONS AROUND THE CORNER.

2019 ELECTIONS AROUND THE CORNER.
BY:
MUDASSIR ALIYU YUNUSA
NTA KADUNA NWC
mudassiray@gmail.com

In Nigeria election into political offices take place periodically after 4 years to allow citizens to make an overview and assess the performance of the office holders voted in previous election. It is about to be a time up to the tenure of political office holders elected in 2015, this compells INEC to hold another fresh election in 2019 (Ceteris paribus). Election is the most important aspect that presages the sustainability of democracy particularly in a country where military coup became frequent, like Nigeria military were in power for 29 years of independence.
Election is a way of choosing leaders through casting of votes directly by people or delegates vested with the power and authority to put in place and legitimize a leader in governmental or non governmental organisations. It is also a procedure that allows members of an organisation or community to choose somebody who will hold position of authority to command and direct their affairs.
For election to be viable, credible and acceptable it has to be free from violence, thuggery, manipulation, rigging and above all people should be given what they desired through their votes. It is pertinent for eligible voters to consider certain factors in voting processes, which are credibility, competency and trace records of politician, should always be a preference. We must avoid tricks by some politicians who dedicate themselves to win election no matter what it might cost them and intense political desperation, most of them join politics just to satisfy their own personal interests, whims and caprices. We have learnt many lessons from political deception, fraud and bitterness during previous elections, so we now have better political awareness and understanding to fish out what is right or wrong for us. What I am saying is the electorates should carefully assess any person aspiring or contesting for a given political office/position base on his/her previous records and testify his/her credibility and accountability before voting him/her. Let us look for the qualities and potentialities that will benefit our society positively, for the fact that it has been a tradition for long, some politicians have been deceiving people with their sugar tongues full of lies and empty promises but their ulterior motives are self centered, self perpetuating and paying no heed to the yearning and plight of their people and constituencies.
As a matter of fact, if we want to salvage ourselves from the danger of electing bad leaders we must not compromise our votes with money or other materials. Let us vote leaders who will make our government fully representative and responsible to the citizens/ electorates, leaders who will work tirelessly to solve our problems of poverty, unemployment, corruption, ignorance and above all insecurity and insurgency.
In as much as we want to sanitize the political scenario of our country we must know among the contenders who the crown of leadership will suitably fit, even though in most cases some of the electorates especially the masses are considering the economic strength of politician where they are convinced to vote people that distributes money or other fragile political token or bribe called TSARI or SAITI (in Hausa)  regardless of his/her social, moral and leadership qualities and commitment which I am sure those politicians when elected would definitely recompense themselves with all they spent during electioneering process, and at the end masses who elected them would be treated ruthlessly and in many cases were forced to became beggars, housemaids, watchdogs and servants of the politicians despite what they endure in long queues; the hot sun, rain, cold and hunger (as the case may be) to vote them into their offices.
Fellow Nigerians, time has come again, let us make rational and commendable choice in the fourth coming election. It is high time now to stop fighting each other and concentrate much on promoting proper values, good attitudes, characters and virtues that will help in building a prosperous nation. Let us consider the responsibilities attached to any political office and endorse a person whom we know is equal to the task for our own benefit. Let us join our hands, work together and endure all the pains of today for the gains of tomorrow, we should set aside and forget all our sentiments, sectionalisms, political differences and feelings to strive for good governance. Usually elections holds in few days but the tenure lasted for 4 years, so is better to capture the chance in little time and get the benefit that will last for long time. Our goals and ambitions are attainable. Our right could be sustained and guaranteed with our PVC and our choice on election day could  bring either positive or negative change to our dear country. Let us vote wisely and give our  mandate to those who have political will and ability to bring positive change which eventually drive our nation to a destination where there is true freedom, justice and accountability. Let us have certainty on whoever we vote will be trustworthy, compassionate and hardworking in serving us to the best of his/her ability. We must elect responsible and accountable leaders or else we must provide pain reliever to ourselves that can mitigate the political tension created by some ineffectual and deceitful politicians those we voted with our hands. Please let us not allow the cycle of thuggery, manipulation, rigging, insecurity, imposition of candidates, political blackmail, tyranny, oppression, human right deprivation and corruption to continue in our pride nation.
Finally, my hope to Nigeria is to conduct free, fair and credible election, and I pray each person elected would be suitable for the crown of leadership, very equal to the task and ever ready to shoulders all the responsibilities attached to the office he/she is going to hold.

THE FALLING STANDARD OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA.

THE FALLING STANDARD OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN

NIGERIA.
BY
MUDASSIR ALIYU YUNUSA
NTA KADUNA NWC

Education is a gift of nature bestowed to human being in order to improve their pattern of living. It is an acquaintance, understanding or awareness about something such as facts, informations, descriptions, skill acquisition through process of learning, observation or findings/discovery, it might be theoretical or practical understanding of the subject matter. In Nigeria education is categorized into basic, intermediary and higher to compliment 6-3-3-4 system.    Primary education or otherwise called basic education is essentially the first stage of learning coming before enrollment into secondary school. In most countries, it is compulsory for children to receive primary education as a basic and the universal goals are TO achieve basic literacy of reading and writing amongs children as well as laying solid foundation in science, arithmetic and other disciplines.
Education is a civil right that ought to be given equally to all citizens by their government, but it is obvious that many government owned schools (primary, secondary and even some tertiary institutions and Universities) are neglected and left without proper management, this brought so many problems including lack of conducive atmosphere of teaching and learning, unqualified and unprofessional Teaching staff, inadequate teaching materials, lack of good libraries and coaching units among others are the reasons for the worst situation public schools are facing, that is why many people including the stakeholders in education are enrolling their children in private schools for better learning and studies.
Before, in Nigeria all children are enrolled, taught and trained together in public schools built for the benefit of the whole community, there was no issue of disparities amongst the rich and poor. members of the community irrespective of their social status are all using public schools, that is to say the totality of children from royal families, powerful business tycoons, politicians, bureaucrats, masses are collectively converged on the same class for the purpose of learning in common. This clearly made the education to be highly qualitative, sound and secured despite the fact that the community depend solely on public schools. But since the time  our government gave the right to establish private schools the educational inequality between children of the elites and less privilege citizens came to limelight, this further compounded the problem associated with public schools and also serve as a basis of neglecting  the schools. Quite rightly the availability of private schools draw the line between the rich and the poor, the leaders and the followers, the bourgeoisies and the proletarians in terms of acquisition of education at all levels. It is obvious that another reason behind total dwindling of public schools is non challant attitudes from  government, the stakeholders and the parents in general. The dreadful condition of these schools in terms of structure, learning process, quality assurance are really disturbing and are what make the sector to witness tremendous decline in academic performance and discipline, this attributed to the total dwindling of those schools, while government's action and inaction with regard to the supervision and management of these schools are really contributing to this menace. It is obvious that Public schools have been left unattended, Government and the supervising authorities are not helping matter, likewise most of the heads in public schools are not concern about the falling standard of education in their schools, and at the same time many parents are not curious to know the situation and academic performance of the schools and their children respectively. Perhaps this negligence might be because of the fact that majority of the students in public schools are children of the less-privileged people who cannot afford to send them to private schools and unfortunately our politicians, Government officials and even the stakeholders who are in charge of public affairs have attended these schools but allowed the same schools to relegate and lose standard to the extend that they are no longer attractive. As for now quite number of people including the stakeholders in education are shamelessly sending their children to private schools either in the country or abroad leaving the masses who forms bulk of the society to use deteriorated schools with number of problems here and there.
Nevertheless, our governments (federal, States and Local) are not responding decisively to the problems but merely bringing some policies with less priority. e g Feeding of pupils, provision of free school uniform, shuttle bus for students, all are good initiatives but  should come subsequently after improving the condition of teaching and leaning through provision of adequate teaching/learning materials, proficient and quality of teaching staff, improving the welfare of teachers, proper and constant supervision by the government, supplementary support from parents and communities. In as much as there is high veracity to change the fortunes of public schools by the Government they will remain worst forever. Government should make it mandatory for high ranking class including the President, Governors, Ministers, National and States assembly members, commissioners, Local Government's Chairmen, the traditional rulers, Councilors, all Civil Servants etc, to admirably enroll their children in public schools. This will surely demonstrate the sincerity of purpose toward repositioning education in Nigeria. No doubt, I am optimistic that no amount of irregularities, inconsistencies and disparities will be allowed to happen in public schools.
I want to notify our leaders and stakeholders in education about the awful condition of public schools, the schools where most of them passed through and became what they are now and what they are proud of today. Your Excellencies, distinguished Senators, most honourable ones, members of judiciary, high ranking civil servants other stakeholders! are you aware that your former schools are no longer attractive and fascinating? I am appealing you to crave time and visit one or two public schools in your respective wards or constituencies and see if you can firmly enroll your children to acquire sound education. it might be a school that compliment your success and achievement but deliberately or negligibly abandoned.
Finally, for Nigeria to register development in all spheres of life, there is higher need of great resilient and complete overhaul of educational sector to be precise. thus public primary, secondary and tertiary institutions should be given much priority by the government.
